The Union Roofing Contractors Association has named Ron Johnston, PhD as its new executive director.
Orange, CA 6/2/01- The Union Roofing Contractors Association
has named as its new executive director, Ron Johnston, Ph.D. After
a wide search for an exec to steer this progressive organization,
we chose Ron for his vision, experience and proven track record,
said Brad Fielder, the organizations board president.
Johnstons duties will focus on creating an awareness program
for property owners, property managers, and building consultants
which explains the value of hiring Union roofing contractors for
their roofing projects.
The Union roofer is being continually trained in the latest
techniques in application, as well as understanding and creating
a safe working environment. The fact of the matter is that Union
roofers and project managers are trained to provide the highest
quality, skill and workmanship available, says Dr. Johnston.
URCA member contractors are responsible for providing roofing
for some of the west coasts premiere properties including
the Library Tower (Los Angeles tallest building), Disney
headquarters in Burbank, the Bellagio Hotel & Casino in Las
Vegas, NV, and UCLAs Pauley Pavilion.
Our member contractors and their employees are chosen for
their skill and integrity. They carry this to all of their jobs,
says Johnston. It is also a real fallacy that they are not
competitive in pricing. We aim to dispel this myth. The URCA is comprised of 25 Union signatory contractors with their majority work taking place throughout all of Southern California and Nevada. Collectively, the contractors employ nearly a thousand employees.
URCA provides continuous education, first aid training, safety
training, scholarships and employee assistance programs to its
member employees.
