	LOS ANGELES, CA 03/24/03 - Blatant Violations Lead to Roofing Task Force. A joint task force has been formed to assist in the enforcement of labor compliance in the Southern California commercial roofing industry. The Union Roofing Contractors Association has teamed up with the United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers & Allied Workers Locals 36 and 220 to pursue the enforcement of what is believed as blatant violations of the law. The new organization has been branded The Roofing Industry Compliance Task Force.
	IRWINDALE, CA 01/19/03 - SCE and URCA Partner to Teach Why It's Cool to Have a "Cool Roof". Southern California Edison (SCE) in conjunction with the Union Roofing Contractors Association (URCA) will present two free seminars on how installing "cool roofs" can reduce electricity usage, save money, and improve profitability for commercial and industrial customers.
	ORANGE, CA 03/29/02 - Taking Care of Business Means Taking Care of the Kids. The Union Roofing Contractors Association (URCA) is looking out for more than leaking roofs. Their recent $1,000 donation to CASBO (California Association of School Business Officials) is making a real difference in many Southern California school districts.

	LOS ANGELES, CA 02/14//02 - The Temptation to Do Good. With so many lives lost on September 11, 2001, the temptation to do good far exceeds the resistance to sit back and watch others pick up the pieces. The character of the American soul and persona to assist those in need during the attack was tested after the events in Washington D.C. and New York.
	LOS ANGELES, CA 9/28/01 - Trainees Become Skilled Journeymen. Throughout history, the practice of apprenticeship has proven to be an effective tool for creating skilled, knowledgeable, and well-trained craftsmen in the construction trade. The Joint Apprenticeship Committee (JAC), which is composed of contractor representatives of the Union Roofing Contractors Association (URCA) and union representatives from Locals 36 and 220 of the United Union of Roofers and Waterproofers recognized the need to provide its industry with qualified workers. In response to that challenge, the JAC established a comprehensive apprenticeship program which was dedicated to providing member companies of URCA with a skilled work force as well as advancing the careers of new and experienced workers in the roofing trade.
	ORANGE, CA 6/2/01 - The Union Roofing Contractors Association has named as its new Executive Director, Ron Johnston, PhD. “After a wide search for an exec to steer this progressive organization, we chose Ron for his vision, experience and proven track record,” said Brad Fielder, the organization’s Board President.
