My wife of 33 years and I enjoy going for rides on my motorcycle and enjoy other outdoor activities. I joined the union in 1971 after high school. I worked on the roof for 27 years from apprentice to foreman.
I began working for Coast Roof Co Inc in 1983. I worked as a foreman until 1998 when I moved into the office as the Superintendent. In 1999 I was promoted to General Superintendent / Project Manager for new construction. In 2001 I was promoted to Vice-President of Production and in 2002 I was promoted to President. I also serve on the RCASC board of directors for the 2004 – 2005 term and chair the Architectural Committee.
I have always worked for union contractors, I believe that union contractors not only provide a better value for their dollar to their customers, they also provide better benefits for their employees, in wages, retirement and medical coverage.
Through our partnership with the Union we have the best-trained work force in the industry which leads directly to higher quality installations for our customers. Our motto at Coast Roof is “Quality is not an accident, it is the product of a conscious effort”. Our foremen have been with us on the average of over 15 years and they practice this motto on a daily basis.
I have been in the roofing industry my entire adult life. Since my beginnings in the roofing industry, there have been vast improvements in applications, materials and specifications. With the assistance of the URCA, member contractors and their employees are continually updated on new technologies. URCA partners with other associations as well as public and private agencies to promote awareness and education. An informed customer makes a better customer.
